Privacy Policy
Effective date: 19 October 2026
This policy explains how the Staycount mobile app ("the app") handles your data. In short: your location history stays on your phone. We do not run servers that store your data, we do not show ads and we do not use analytics or tracking tools.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is KAROL NIEMIEC APPXNEXT, ul. Pogórze 26, 32-031 Gaj, Poland, NIP 9442276005. Contact: knappxnext@gmail.com.
2. Data processed on your device
- Location. With your permission the app reads your device location, in the foreground and, if you turn on automatic tracking, in the background. Location points are used only to determine which country you are in on each day. They are stored in the app's private storage on your device and are automatically deleted after about four years.
- Trips, rules and settings that you enter are stored on your device only.
- Notifications about limits are scheduled locally on your device.
- PDF reports are created on your device. They leave the device only if you choose to share them.
We, the developer, have no access to this data.
3. Data sent to third parties
- Country lookup by your phone's operating system. To name the country of a location, the app uses the reverse-geocoding service built into your phone (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android). For this, the coordinates of a location point are sent to Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. If this is not possible, the app uses built-in offline maps and nothing is sent.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google). We never see your payment details. To check whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, Inc. (USA), which receives a random app user ID, purchase information, device type, operating-system version and app version. RevenueCat acts as our processor. Transfers to the USA rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Device backups. If you have enabled iCloud Backup or Android backup, your operating system may include the app's data in your personal backup. This is controlled by you and by Apple or Google.
4. Legal basis
Processing is based on providing the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and on your consent to location access, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
5. Your rights
You can delete all app data at any time by deleting the app or turning off location access. Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict processing of your data, to data portability, to object and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Poland: Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych). Because your data stays on your device, most requests can be fulfilled directly in the app. For anything else, contact us at the address above.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 16.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always available on this page with its effective date.
